Liu Juncai, Deputy District Governor, Surveyed the Protection for and Utilization of the Cultural Relics along the Ping’an Avenue

On the morning of October 24, 2020, Deputy District Governor Liu Juncai surveyed three cultural relics along the Ping’an Avenue including the Sengge Rinchen Memorial Temple, the architectural remains of Aisin Gioro Yi Mo’s Mansion and the Nanxin Granary to understand the protection for and utilization of those cultural relics, accompanied by Jia Yuheng, Deputy Director of the Dongcheng District Bureau of Culture and Tourism.

At the Sengge Rinchen Memorial Temple, Liu Juncai listened to the report on the use of the cultural relics protection unit by Jingcheng Experimental Kindergarten and stressed that the kindergarten should carefully study the methods to protect and utilize cultural relics, be open to specific groups at proper time and strengthen the historical and cultural education for children to help them enhance the awareness of cultural relic protection at an early age.

In Dongsi Jiutiao Primary School, Liu Juncai inspected the preservation of the Square Pavilion in Aisin Gioro Yi Mo’s Mansion and praised Dongsi Jiutiao Primary School for its active participation in the renovation of the relics along the Ping’an Avenue. She stressed that the District Bureau of Culture and Tourism should provide more guidance for cultural relics protection to display cultural relics to the public by environmental improvement and commit to cultural relics publicity by using technological methods and various forms.

Liu Juncai also inspected the protection for and utilization of each warehouse in Nanxin Granary and listened to the report from Yishang Group on the establishment of Nanxin Granary Museum. She pointed out that Nanxin Granary should give play to its geographical advantages and drive the development of the block with cultural progress. The District Bureau of Culture and Tourism should cooperate with Beijing Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage and provide timely service and guidance to help Yishang Group design plans for museum construction.
