Deputy District Governor Yang Kun Held the Third Joint Conference for Stabilizing Foreign Investment in Dongcheng District

On the morning of October 28, Deputy District Governor Yang Kun held the third joint conference for stabilizing foreign investment in Dongcheng District, attended by 8 departments including the District Bureau of Commerce, District Finance Office, District Development and Reform Commission, District Health Commission, District Bureau of Technology and Information, District Administration for Market Supervision, District Investment Promotion Center and District Cultural Promotion Center.

At the conference, the District Bureau of Commerce introduced the progress of stabilizing foreign investment in Dongcheng District, the breakdown of foreign investment utilization indicators in 2021, and the services offered to foreign-funded enterprises. Participants conducted detailed discussions on further steps for stabilizing foreign investment by giving full play to their respective role.

Yang Kun emphasized the implementation of the instructions stated by Yang Jinbai (Vice Mayor of Beijing) for stabilizing foreign investment. Firstly, Dongcheng District should focus on long-term planning. Apart from completing this year’s objective and tasks, the District should make advance plans for the use of foreign investment next year, stabilize the stock, attract more investments and break down targets and tasks, laying a solid foundation for the completion of the following year’s targets and tasks. Secondly, the District should pay close attention to large projects and sort out existing and potential large foreign-financed projects to form project records. The competent industry management department should take charge of tracking large projects. Thirdly, the District should make more efforts to serve existing foreign-funded enterprises and form a cooperative working mechanism with a direct connection between departments, special teams and district leaders according to the “Dongcheng District Work Plan for Contacting and Serving Foreign-funded Enterprises”, thus promoting the development of Dongcheng District and helping foreign-funded enterprises in the district become larger and stronger. Fourthly, all member units should strengthen collaboration with each other, make complete and clear records about investment attraction and promotion projects, accelerate the study and issuance of policies for key investment areas, strengthen the promotion and services for enterprises, and attract prominent foreign-funded enterprises to the Dongcheng District in a targeted manner.
