Dongcheng District Winning the Honor of “2011 Outstanding District in Food Safety Measures”

  Beijing Food Safety Measures Commendation Congress was successfully held in Schengen International Hotel on Jan. 15, 2012. The Vice Mayor Cheng Hong announced the results of the first evaluation on the food safety measures taking by each district and county in Beijing, and Dongcheng, Xicheng, Chaoyang, Changping and Huairou were named as outstanding districts.

  In 2011, Dongcheng district committee and district government attached great importance to food safety. The district Food Safety Commission strengthened the construction of network, developed the grid social management practices, and went into community to implement the basic daily supervision and management. The commission also effectively carried out food safety special rectification to ensure a stable food market order in the district. As a result, there has been no single case of food poisoning and the qualification rate of spot check and test kept high, which gained more and more awareness and satisfaction of the general public on the issue of food safety year by year. Dongcheng District is the leading force in food safety measures in Beijing, and thus was named one of the outstanding districts in 2011 food safety work.

  In 2012, Dongcheng District Food Safety Commission will work with more passion, more industrious working attitude and pragmatic working method by actively acting in the spirit of food safety working conference and following the specific requirements stated by the district committee and district government. The Food Safety Commission keeps four "to insist" in work: to insist "prevention first" principle, to insist the combination of community grid and functional departments, to insist the combination of daily regulation and special rectification, and to insist the combination of enterprise self-discipline and publicity and training. This is the way to create a good situation that everyone is concerned about food safety and the risk control ability in the district is increasingly improved and the way to expect more success in the district food safety work.
