It was the Wind Band of the Taiyuan Shahejie Primary School, the Wind Band of the Beijing Wenhui Middle School, the Wind Band of the Beijing No. 166 Middle School, and the US Landon School Wind Band that have performed the domestic and overseas classical repertoires for the audiences.

With the theme of “World-Beijing, Culture-Dongcheng”, this Band Festival is held to build up friendship with music and provide a platform for the musicians and music fans coming from different countries and regions to explore, enhance and share music techniques with the aim of implementing the planning outline for national development in terms of the cultural reform during the 12th Five-Year Plan, promoting the great prosperity and remarkable development of the Socialist Culture, and further developing the Dongcheng District as “the Central District of the Culture of Capital and a Window for the World City”. With well-arranged concerts as well as lectures, contests and communications, this Band Festival has been furnished with rich contents and colorful performances. The domestic and overseas concert bands and musicians will step into local communities and campuses, bring about all kinds of concerts and musical dialogues, and carry out directed learning, so that the public will have zero-distance contact with music, stay with musical enjoyment and appreciate the great chances and a precious supplement for improvement especially as music fans and youngsters.

The Band Festival will last until July 18. As one of the undertaking units, the First Culture Centre of the Dongcheng District will hold four fantastic concerts at the Fengshang Theatre and the First Library Theatre of the Dongcheng District, organize some lectures delivered by the music masters and arrange four occasions of inter-school communications domestically or cross-culturally between the US Landon School Wind Band and the Wind Band of the Beijing No. 166 Middle School, as well as between the Wind Band of the Taiyuan Shahejie Primary School and the Wind Band of the Beijing Fuxue-hutong Primary School, with 1800 ticket distributed without charge to the bureau-level units of our District as well as the individuals of the local communities.
