Southeast Turret Shows Its Original Appearance

Recently, the southeast turret outside the Ming Dynasty City Wall, which has disappeared for nearly a century, reappeared at the bank of southeast moat. At the district “two sessions” press conference, the responsible person of district culture committee said that after two-year efforts, the turret project has been completed. The new turret not only shows its original ancient style, but also is a featured library, focusing on Beijing history books and relevant knowledge introduction. The southeast turret is located to the east of Zuo’anmen Bridge and in the southeast corner of Binhe Road (Longtan East Road), with a total area of 1,160 square meters and a main building of 14.4 meters in height.
