Puren Hospital Carries Out Health Lectures in Communities

In order to further deepen the comprehensive reform of medical separation in Beijing and earnestly provide good and practical services for most patients, Puren Hospital, together with the Dushi Xinyuan Community, recently carried out health counseling lectures for residents.

Although it was raining on the day, it didn't dampen the enthusiasm of all the residents. Many people attended the lecture in spite of the rain. In view of the current high incidence of thyroid disease, Gu Xinjing from the Surgical Nursing Department of Puren Hospital explained the cause, hazards and preventive measures of the thyroid disease with plain language and vivid pictures. She also taught the residents self-examinations of thyroid by looking and touching, which enabled the residents to learn the most concise and effective disease prevention knowledge in a short period of time.

Later on, Sun Huijun from the Gynecology Nursing Department explained the prevention of cervical cancer, one of women's common malignant tumors. She gave an in-depth explanation of the predisposing factors, clinical symptoms, bad habits and the impact of work stress on cervical cancer, and taught people how to get away from it by exercise, balanced diets and changing unhealthy habits. Besides, she also promoted the active treatment of cervical erosion and advocates early diagnosis and treatment through early screening.

In the event, clinic nurses handed out experts visiting schedules at Puren Hospital, to make it convenient for residents to see doctors on demand. In addition, according to the related requirements of home-based care for the elderly in the aging society, health care volunteers also carried out a survey on the future health care needs, which was welcomed by the residents.

Through the event, Puren Hospital not only brought professional knowledge to the community, but helped the residents to understand related information about diagnosis, treatment and service at the hospital. It is known that Puren Hospital will continue to visit the communities and homes, so as to improve the health of residents.
