Children Learn to Protect Themselves for the Safe

What do you do if a stranger forcibly drag and pull you? How do you deal with getting stranded? What can you do when dragged into a strange place by the bad person? Recently, the Women's Federation of Dongcheng District, together with the Hongrui Family Education Research Center, conducted the event of Safety and Self-care Ability Enhancement Project for Summer Holidays- Escape and Self Rescue in Danger at Chongwai and Jingshan Sub-districts separately. Through the analysis of actual cases, parents and children were aware of the hidden dangers in life, and guided to enhance their safety awareness.

In order for children to remember safety knowledge, teachers from the Hongrui Family Education Research Center wrote songs and recited them with children. The teachers said, "Safety is very important for every child and every family. We hope that through this event, the children can safely spend the summer holidays and every day in their life."

It is understood that to keep children safe for the summer holidays, the Women's Federation of Dongcheng District collaborates with professional social organizations to carry out for years the safety and self-care ability enhancement project for minors in the summer holidays in 17 sub-districts of Dongcheng District. Through a combination of safety knowledge instruction and interactive experience, the project has conducted a series of effective safety courses, including natural disasters sheltering, emergency dressing, escape and self-help in danger, home safety science, small drama performances on anti-trafficking, small guards for safe usage of computers, self protection in rainstorm, etc., so as to help children to master the necessary self-care skills. Meanwhile, the project advocates the security concept of "harm is not accidental and injury is preventable" to enhance safety and self-care ability of minors and safety awareness of guardians and parents, which also helps to improve the professional competence of staff at children's home.
