holding a 3-day Bringing Performances to Communities activity

The melody sometimes went mild and indirect, and sometimes vigorous and powerful; with a careful listen, it became rather familiar. In the past few days, you could always hear melodious notes from dancing strings flowing out of the small courtyard of Suzhou Community, Xizhenjiang Hutong. Mozart Serenades & Divertimenti, Blue Danube, the Butterfly Lovers and other masterpieces attempted you close to open the door to only find that it was a small quartet going on.

The courtyard could hold some 100 people and no spare seat was found. The neighbors had heard that professional artists would give a performance in the community and was so thrilled that they came here early. And the artists from the National Centre for the Performing Arts did not let them down. At the intervals of performing masterpieces, they also popularized the knowledge about quartet.

It is known that the Bringing Performances to Communities held by the General Union of Jianguomen Sub-district is part of the series activities of Performing 100 Public Interest Activities by the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Started at the beginning of March 2016, the activity is organized by Publicity Department of CPC Beijing Committee and the National Centre for the Performing Arts, and co-organized by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture, Beijing Social Work Office and Beijing Education Bureau. The activity brings high arts that are normally enjoyed in professional theaters to the neighborhoods, which enriches the cultural life of the people, popularize knowledge about arts and demonstrate the charm of arts. A person in charge of Jianguomen Sub-district said that the performance would be played for 3 consecutive days to meet the demand of more neighbors.
