The First Library of Dongchen District held lecture

At 2 p.m. on 11th September, Intoxicated in the Seas of Books-Life Enriched by Photographing was held as scheduled at Multi-Function Room. Fu Xiao, columnist of National Geography, and photography goers of Dongcheng Library shared their skills about outdoor shooting of urban architecture at night, attracting 130 shutterbugs to take part in the lecture.

At the beginning, Fu Xiao introduced the preparation of equipment for shooting buildings and the preparation for the weather. The best time for photos is the 30 minutes before and after sunset. The first 30 minutes is the best for photographing sunset, and the latter for shooting night scenes when tripod, grip clamps, cable release, soft gradient filters and so on are needed. In Beijing, a photographer should always pay attention to the change of air quality. It is the best to shoot in the north, northwestern wind with a force from level 3 to 5. It is OK to shoot in sunny, cloudy, overcast days, but cloudy is the best condition.

Afterwards, Fu Xiao showed the architecture he took. We can see from the photos that when shooting night scenes, a photographer should focus not only on the application of aperture and longtime exposure and noise reduction, but on knowing what to keep or set aside and on selecting themes. Photographers need to have a unique pair of eyes to unveil beauty. At the end of the lecture, Fu Xiao enthusiastically interacted with shutterbugs who said they benefited a lot from the lecture.
