Ice Skating in Summer Sub-district

With the purpose of popularizing Winter Olympics culture and knowledge on sports, the Tiyuguan Road Sub-district Bureau built a synthetic ice pad of over 50 square meters on Dongsikuaiyu Cultural Plaza. It is open to residents of the district from May 12-16, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for free. It not only enabled residents to enjoy ice skating in their local community, but was also a way to support the 2022 Winter Olympics to be held in China. The ice skating project is also one of the featured projects of the 9th Community Sports Culture Festival.

The synthetic ice pad was extremely popular, as a stream of residents went to experience and had fun. The chief of the section of culture, education, health and sports of the Tiyuguan Road Sub-district Bureau said in the interview that he hadn't expected so many residents to come. In the future, the sub-district bureau will collaborate with more organizations to build synthetic ice pads for the residents.

This year's Tiyuguan Road Sub-district Community Sports Culture Festival aims at publicity for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games. The Sub-district Bureau also organized information display on Winter Olympics. In order to provide an opportunity for local residents to experience ice skating, a synthetic ice pad of 52 square meters was built, and retired ice skating coaches served as volunteers to teach residents.

The Tiyuguan Road Sub-district Community Sports Culture Festival had its grand opening recently. As a sub-district community brand, the festival is well-received by local residents. It is held every year, with themes on "sports" and "culture" alternatively. This year's festival focuses on the participation of the residents. With the theme of popularizing Winter Olympics culture, it attracted community residents as well as employees. Other than special Winter Olympic items, such as ice skating, there were also other sports activities, such as fun basketball and ping-pong.
