Promotional Activities for Active Elderly Care Initiative

On the morning of June 5th, Chongwenmen Wai Community introduced Beike LOHAS as an elderly care service social organization, and held the second session of promotional activities for Active Elderly Care Initiative in the community activity room of the western part of Guorui City.

This series of activities was originally intended to disseminate and promote the concept of Active Elderly Care of the World Health Organization (WHO) and encourage the elders in the community to actively lead a happy and dignified lifestyle. The initiative also encourages elders in the community to conduct long-term functional training to maintain their health and independence, and enhance the interconnection between the community and the elderly, and build an elderly-friendly community. The activity revolves around a new set of care model for the elderly and aims at health, joy, dignity, and vitality. The initiative explores a set of new models that are suitable for the home-based care services for the elderly in our country. In line with national conditions in modern times, the initiative is also a test of the physical and mental health of older people, and provides a brand-new, healthy and happy lifestyle for the elderly in the community.

In the event, the elderly experienced the courses of Beike LOHAS: Measure your fitness! - Softness and Balance, A Test of Your Mental Quickness, Healthy Fitness - Strengthening Lower Limbs, Healthy Fitness - Upper Body Strength and Relaxation and Stretching. Through active and interesting activities, participants were able to evaluate their physical conditions and learned how to exercise in a correct and safe way to improve their physical functions. The instructors from Beike LOHAS guided the elderly to use interactive forms in doing cerebral and cognitive training to improve memory, responsiveness, reasoning and cognitive functions. The event aims at preventing dementia and changing the old concept that old people are useless. With love, the confidence of the elderly can be regained. The activity allows residents to personally experience non-pharmaceutical adjuvant therapy as a scientific method to slow down their aging, so that everyone can lead a healthy and happy life in their later years.
