Chinese Classic Reading by Youth Activity Successfully Held

In order to further inherit the excellent Chinese traditional culture and strengthen the ideological and moral development of juveniles, a Chinese Classic Reading by Youth activity, co-organized by Dongcheng District Civilization Office and Dongcheng District Cultural Committee, and undertaken by the Second Library in Dongcheng District, was successfully held at Jiaolou Library, a branch library of the Second Library in Dongcheng District on July 16th.

"Chinese culture has a long history and the classics of Chinese literature have been enduring for a long time," the reading activity kicked off after the little host's announcement on the stage. The young performers melodiously recited the beautiful ancient poetry works such as Ancient Poetry Collection, Night on Spring River, Awakening in Spring, and Style of Gentleman, making audience immerse in the vast works of Chinese classics and feel the vigor and power of Ming and Tang Dynasty. If I Have a Magical Pen of Ma Liang brought by Liu Sidi, and A Talk with the Great Mountains brought by Linghu Anxiu helped the audiences deeply appreciate the correct world outlook, values and life's philosophy cherished by the young people of our times. Poetry reading The Recount of Motherland in Tang Poems and Chinese expressed respect for Chinese traditional culture and enhanced people's patriotic sentiment. The Ballad of Mulan brought by Du Ninglin, a first-class actor in China, won continuous applause from all the guests and audiences. The two poems by Mao Zedong, namely, Qilv·Long March and Return to Jinggangshan, recited by the famous recitation artist Yin Zhiguang, made a deep impression on everyone's mind. Although Mr. Yin has been over eighty years old, he is full of vigor and passion, bringing the whole event to a climax with his impassioned recitation.

According to the person in charge of the activity, the aim of Chinese Classic Reading by Youth Activity is to guide juveniles into the classics, experience classics and taste classics, so that they can absorb nutrition and wisdom from excellent Chinese traditional culture, pass on cultural genes, and extract the essence of those excellent thoughts. At the same time, it is hoped that, through this reading activity, juveniles of our times will create a new glory of Chinese culture with firmer resolution.
