Ensure the Food Safety of the Students

According to the unified arrangement of Dongcheng Food and Drug Administration, the Food and Drug Supervision Office of Tiyuguan Sub-district has taken multiple measures to carry out special autumn inspections of food safety in the campuses. The first is to strengthen supervision. Supervision and inspection will reach 100% coverage for all the canteens in child care institutions and schools within the district. Efforts will be made to strictly check the qualifications of the main body, the construction and implementation of the food safety system, the purchase and storage of raw materials, the disinfection of tableware and the personal hygiene and health status among others. Schools are also urged to work hard to improve the quantitative level and speed up the construction of the "Sunshine Food" project. During the inspection, problems were found in some canteens that the reserved sample failed to meet the standard and that marks on the containers where the food was stored were blurred. Law enforcement officers required them to immediately rectify. The second is to strengthen food safety promotion on the campus. Law enforcement officers visited Banchang Primary School and gave "the first lesson of the school" to the children on food safety. They introduced "Sunshine Food" project, food additives, cheap and low-quality snacks and other related knowledge. The publicity activity deeply imprinted the concept of food safety in the hearts of children, and made them establish a healthy concept of food consumption from an early age. The third is to make the inspection more targeted. Fourteen samples of rice, pork and edible oil taken from the students' canteen are being tested by professional institutions for final results. For the snacks, meat products and others that children like to eat and buy, eleven samples were taken for fast testing and all met the standards.
