Longtanzhong Lake Will be Built into a Comprehensive Park

  Phase 1 of public opinion solicitation for Longtanzhong Lake's Environmental Renovation, Enhancement and landscape planning has ended. According to statistical data, 40% of the respondents wish that Longtanzhong Lake Park may be built into a comprehensive park.

  Longtanzhong Lake used to be one of the earliest large amusement parks in Beijing that carries the child memories of several generations of Beijingers. The park was officially closed from June 17, 2010. On October 15 this year, Dongcheng District officially launched the public opinion solicitation for Longtanzhong Lake's Environmental Renovation, enhancement and landscape planning. How the old amusement park will be transformed will be decided by the public.

  Since the official launch of the opinion collection, it has received wide attention from all walks of life. As of 24:00 on October 24, a total of 121,000 people paid attention to this activity, 21,500 people actually logged on the surveying platform and came to the collection site, and a total of more than 10,000 valid questionnaires were collected.

  According to statistics, 40% of the respondents expect Longtanzhong Lake Park to be built into a comprehensive park; over 30% respondents hope that the park will provide the functions of leisure, entertainment, fitness and education science popularization; more than 70% of the respondents live within 3 km of Longtanzhong Lake Park; 60% of the respondents visit the park every day or every week; nearly 80% of the respondents participated in public opinion for the first time. Among other suggestions, most respondents hope that the park will be completed and opened as soon as possible and offer free admission.

  In addition, based on public opinions, the District Gardening and Greening Center organized experts from relevant industries to demonstrate and form a comprehensive opinion on the positioning, construction direction and planning concept of Longtanzhong Lake Park. According to the opinions of the public and the experts, Longtanzhong Lake Park will be built into a comprehensive park embodying the concepts of forest city, wetland, biodiversity, conservative garden and smart park. At the same time, it must provide the four functions of leisure, fitness, entertainment and education and science popularization.

  Next, the District Gardening and Greening Center will entrust a professional planning company to carry out the landscape designing of the park. When the conceptual plan is finished, another round of opinion collection will be conducted among the public.
