Qingnianhu Community of Hepingli Sub-district, Dongcheng District awarded glorious plaques to the veterans

Recently, the staff of Qingnianhu Community Office of Hepingli Sub-district hung glorious plaque for the households of veterans. "This plaque is a symbol that makes me feel proud," said a community resident wearing a big smile to community workers after the glorious plaque was hung.

The glorious plaque is a great honor awarded to the dependents of the martyrs and military personnel, veterans and others meeting the standards for special support. According to the requirements of People's Livelihood Office, all the communities in each sub-street should take great efforts in issuing and hanging glorious plaques. It signifies the inheritance of the sub-streets, communities and households to carry forward our tradition to support the military and their dependents. It is also a concrete measure to create a strong social atmosphere of patriotism, and support and respect the military. Such actions are of significant importance to effectively improve the sense of gain, honor and happiness of the dependents of the martyrs, military personnel and veterans.

According to a staff of Qingnianhu Community, the staff of Hepingli Sub-district initially collected and reported the information regarding the veterans, demobilized soldiers and active military personnel in the area under its administration. In March this year, community leaders led a working team to hang glorious plaques of "Glorious Home" for 150 military dependents and veterans. "Although the glorious plaque is small, it reflects the heart-to-heart military-civilian relationship with a shared destiny. It not only highlights the dignity and social status of the military and their dependents, but also creates a strong atmosphere of one person joining the army bringing honor to the whole family," said a community worker.
