Further Improve Remote Medical Services and Provide Assistance for Grassroots-level Development

On September 5, 2019, the Remote Medical Service Center, jointly established by the Beijing Puren Hospital and the Chaoyang Health Center of Huade County, officially opened under the active coordination of the nominal cadres sent by Dongcheng District to support Inner Mongolia Huade County Hospital. This is the second Beijing-county-township grassroots-level remote medical platform established by Dongcheng District and Huade County.

Through the remote medical platform, experts from Beijing Puren Hospital organized a remote consultation for three local patients with diabetes, hypertension and digestive diseases. Medical experts from Dongcheng District inquired about the patients’ medical history, checked the examination data, gave instruction in medication, and offered health suggestions of reasonable diet and proper exercise. They were highly praised by local medical staff and patients.

Relying on the remote medical service platform, Dongcheng District medical experts can organize distance teaching, and health education, so that more grassroots-level medical personnel in Huade County can receive high-level medical education and training, thus effectively improving the local medical technology level, strengthening their capacity to serve the people, and enabling residents of Huade County to enjoy the high-quality medical services of Beijing experts at home. The project gives the solution to the problem of “high expense and difficulty in seeking medical treatment” for rural residents in Huade County, mends the last mile of poverty alleviation through health projects and strengthens the sense of achievement of local medical personnel and the masses on health and poverty alleviation.
