Ditan, also called Fangzetan, is the place of emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties to worship the "god of the land" and also the longest successive worship altar in the Chinese history. During the period of 1531 to 1911, as many as 15 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties have continuously worshiped "the god of the land" for as long as 381 years old. In the ancient China, the concept of Round Heaven - Square Earth was popular for long, so as the worship architecture,Ditan is typical of the repetitive usage of the square form which represents the land.
